At the salon
Amanda applies eyelash extensions at her salon that can last anywhere from four to six weeks. With this method, a certified technician adheres synthetic or mink lashes to each individual lash. The number of salons that offer this service is increasing, but just make sure to do your research before you go in. “Nail salons are starting to do eyelashes and some of these salons use imported automotive glue. If you ever smell a fume when they are applying your lashes, you know that it’s not certified surgical glue.” If this happens you could be damaging your lashes, and even worse – your eyes.

Amanda’s Quick Tricks:

  • You can use the comb side of an eyebrow groomer to tame your unruly lashes.
  • If you have strait lashes, try a lash perm. There is no maintenance, and it lasts for approximately three months.
  • After you apply fake lashes, finish them off with a coat of mascara. This helps them stick together, and also makes them look more natural.
  • Make sure mascara is always the very last step in your makeup routine. If not, eye shadow will stick to your mascara, making your lashes dull and unnoticeable. To keep mascara from getting on your eye shadow, look down when you apply, and then pull away.

If you want to do a little head turning at the next company party, wedding, or I don’t know, coffee shop, then, try some of these tricks. You can be batting your longer, healthier lashes in no time.
