3. Get the Essential Tools.
Every woman needs just three simple tools for maintaining their eyebrows: a good eyebrow pencil, a brush and a great gel. Gel is really important because it conditions brow hair and serves as a quick and easy fix for unruly brows. “If you really don’t know what to do, just brush them and apply gel, and you will be 50 percent better than tweezing and not knowing what you’re doing,” Eliza says. She recommends brushing eyebrows parallel with your skin, then applying the gel to contour the shape.

4. Fill Them in.
Whether thick or thin, all eyebrows must be filled in for a fuller look. Pencils give different effects, so if you want to create a frame, choose skinny pencils. But if you prefer a more powdery, softer look, go for chunky ones, which work better for nonprofessionals.
Use a blonde pencil for very light to medium skin tones, and dark brown for olive skin. And switch it up for every occasion: “if you want to look a little bit sexier for the evening, use a darker shade of pencil so they stand out more. If you’re at the beach, don’t use any pencil- just use brow gel to have them shaped properly,” Eliza suggests.

| I always do my own eyebrows - and pluck the tops. ooooooops. | |

| Eyebrows actually do change your face. I used to pluck, but in college I started waxing my eyebrows and my face looked and felt so much more fresh and clean. I really felt more confident. | |

| I LOVE Eliza. I had the privilege to get my eyebrows done by her at Exhale. She's amazing! | |

| I hear threading is in style right now. Is this a good idea? | |

| Yeah, I agree that permanent anything - be it eyeliner, eyebrows - whatever is a definite no-no. Because what if you want a fuller look, and you're stuck with rail thin eyebrows? Now you see stars like Sienna going the bushy route...something you def can't do if you got them permanently done. | |

| I don't believe threading is permanent--the process uses a cotton thread to pull hairs from the skin by the root, much faster than tweezing and much less painfully than waxing. | |
