Paris, France
Trend: Patent Leather Flats
“One accessory becomes really hot and everyone buys it. Last year it was Chuck Tailor sneakers. Every well dressed French woman would wear them for running around in the day, and have them in many colors ... These days patent leather flats are seen quite often,” says French fashion photographer Sara White Wilson, 28. So why the major shift in shoe style? “The French are very conformist people, and very concerned with good taste in every aspect of life. For these reasons, fashion is more an opportunity for them to display their social class, and most importantly fit in with that class.”
Trend: Skinny Jeans and Espadrilles (for men!)
Another trend Sara observes: “A lot of young men wear the skinny jean with sleek boots for a 60s mod style, the boys are even starting to wear espadrilles around the city on weekends!”
