Get Connected.
Message boards are a great place to talk about what’s going on in your life with people in similar situations. Whether you want to stop drinking or work on your confidence, there are plenty of specialized boards that can meet your needs. Another great way to connect – start a blog. If you don’t already have one, a blog is the perfect way to keep track of what you did and express your thoughts to others.
Get Involved.
Whether it’s becoming a Big Sister or picking up trash at the beach, become an active member in your community. There are plenty of nonprofit organizations that are always looking for volunteers. All it takes is committing a couple of hours a week to change the world.
Read a book a week.
Yes Project Runway is addicting, but watching television when there’s nothing else to do can be a mind-numbing experience. Turn off the box and pick up a book – there are plenty of stories waiting to be read at your local bookstore or library. Reading helps you learn, cope with stress, and expand your vocabulary.

| I love that addy! I hate the word "resolutions," but I never really thought about it. "Goals" is much better, I agree. Resolutions almost has a negative connotation. | |

| Here's the method I'm using: I wrote down my goals for the year with a bold Sharpie pen on a white piece of paper, and it's taped to my bedroom wall, so every time I wake up, I'm reminded of what goals to keep everyday. | |

| No more drunk dialing (or texting or emailing) for me in 2008! Also I'm going to stop trying to force a relationship to happen because nothing good comes from it. | |

| I'm not a fan of the word resolutions, but I love goals. My main goal this year is to be true to myself. To grow up and stop letting others opinions direct my life. | |
