Exercising isn’t the only way to get in shape. “Eating is half of it,” Jackie says. Check out her tips for healthy eating.

Jackie’s Quick-Fit Nutrition Tips:

  • Limit your sugar intake. People are now seeing that sugar is more addictive than hard core drugs.
  • Prioritize. Do you really enjoy that caramel macchiato? Take a survey of what you eat, and save the calories you don’t care about for something you’ll really enjoy, like a slice of cake.
  • Give yourself a break. Eating perfectly every meal is no fun. That’s why you need to allow yourself a “cheat meal.” Try eating well all day Saturday and then have drinks or dessert that night.
  • Don’t be a carb-a-phobic. Don’t cut out carbs completely because they’re fuel for your mind and they keep you going.
  • Fat is not the enemy. It doesn’t matter how many fat grams are in a product, it is not going to make you fat. Sugar is the real culprit for weight gain.
  • Don’t starve yourself. When you starve yourself, your body slows down, which means your metabolism also slows drastically every day. So the next thing you put in your mouth is stored twice as effectively as fat.
