"While struggling with my eating disorder, I had just gotten to a place where I was physically, emotionally, spiritually exhausted. I had truly hit a wall. I've overcome my eating disorder through therapy—including art therapy through the creation of SpoonFed Art—and a sincere desire to get better. I think that with eating disorders in particular, talking through the issues sometimes isn't enough and art opens up a whole new channel for people to express themselves. It's important for women to know they're not alone. I think there needs to be a shift in our culture where women are recognized as powerful beings in their own right and that we have the ability, and the responsibility, to achieve that in whatever way we can."
