hosting product parties, product party

Picture four o’clock: Your office lines are flooded and your nagging boss barely lets you have time for a coffee break, let alone reapply your “Violet Vixen” lip gloss… which you’re almost too broke to afford anyway. Worst of all, your fellow employees don’t understand your pain since their entire existence revolves around climbing that corporate ladder. Sound familiar?

If you’re bored to tears at work and could use a boost to your bank account, why not add a little excitement to your life by selling fun products on a part-time basis. While for some the phrase “product parties” might bring to mind 1950’s housewives oohing and aahing over Tupperware, today there’s a seemingly-endless array of companies looking for women to sell their products—from bags and jewelry to cooking supplies and sex toys—on the side.

In good company.
The first step to making big money throwing product parties is finding a company with products that interest you, because you’ll be the best at selling something you’d actually buy yourself. Many current representatives will tell you they found the ideal company by attending or hosting a product party. “I attended a product party that a friend was hosting and absolutely fell in love with the products,” says Lisa Kwmuntis, who sells home, garden and kitchen products for Southern Living at Home. “I saw the earning potential and decided to move from simply being a buyer to a seller/consultant.”
