SM: How do you like going to school in a city?
Leah: It’s really cool. It’s very, very different from what I’m used to. I’m from Seattle. The first thing I missed about Seattle was the trees. [I found myself] walking around this giant, concrete jungle and thinking to myself, why isn’t it green here? Sometimes you just want to go out in the country, but where GW is situated is really cool because Virginia is only like a ten minute walk away. And…DC itself, is awesome. There’s so much to do here.
SM: What’s the party scene like on campus?
Leah: It really depends what you want to make it. There’s a [Greek] presence on campus, but it’s not overwhelming. I think about 15 percent of the student body is active in Greek life. I have tons of friends who are not members of Greek organizations and who definitely like to go out and party every weekend. In the city there are dozens of clubs you can go to, music venues, a fraternity is throwing a party every weekend, sororities are often throwing parties [too]. There’s always something to do.
