HOW TO GET BACK ON THE ROAD

Pull over.
Safely pull the car over on a level surface, put the car in park and flip on your hazard lights. Make sure the car is away from traffic and, if it’s night, be sure to pull over in a well-lit area.

Prevent the car from rolling.
Place bricks, rocks, wheel blocks or other heavy objects at the front and back of the three wheels that you aren’t changing.

Find your tools.
You will need a jack, a lug wrench and the spare tire. The car’s owner’s manual should direct you to where these things are located in your car.

Loosen the tire.
Use the lug wrench to loosen, but not remove, the lug nuts on the flat tire by turning the lug wrench counterclockwise.

Raise the car.
Consult the owner’s manual to determine where the jack should be placed. (Your dedicated hours at the gym will now pay off!) Place the jack in the proper place and raise the car until the flat tire is off the ground.
