Hot stuff.
If you’re keeping your guests warm with a steamy concoction, there are a few special ways to dress up that holiday cocktail. Throw in a cinnamon stick or a candy cane to add a little extra spice to a cider or hot chocolate. A sprig of mint goes great with coffee flavors, as do a few shaved almonds. Don’t have anything fancy on hand? Throw in a few coffee beans or spicy red candies.

Ice, ice, baby.
Chilled holiday cocktail? You can have just as much fun. Throw in a festive surprise with special ice cubes. Freeze ice with cranberries, chocolate Santa's or colorful sprinkles in them. Anything (that isn’t poisonous!) will work and will give your guests a treat. Frozen fruit slices add a little color to clear cocktails. Go with the classic olives in a martini, or get creative and skewer blueberries on a holiday cocktail toothpick to add some Hanukkah flair.

Sweet addition.
Candied fruit, shaved chocolate or chocolate coins, slit so they sit on the rim of the glass, add a festive touch, while whipped cream sweetens both hot and cold drinks without a lot of time or effort. Top the cream with some colored sprinkles to correspond with the holiday you’re celebrating. Or, if you’re feeling crafty, try adding a little almond extract (or any flavored extract) to the whipped cream before topping off the drink with it. It’ll give your holiday cocktail that extra something that will keep everyone asking for more.
