Just like in real estate, location is key.
Obviously, the single guys are going to be at supermarkets where single people live. So if you live in the suburbs, you may see a lot of cuties but they’re more likely to be one half of a couple. Stick to the city centers: downtowns, uptowns, midtowns. And speaking of location, the type of store you hit is important, too. I visited a supermarket chain, but found I had much better luck at the high-end organic store—so I guess most quality guys are both healthy and wealthy!

Finding the top location within the supermarket is also critical. I quickly discovered that single men congregated in the frozen food aisles and in the prepackaged meal sections. While shopping for a boyfriend, stay away from the diaper and feminine hygiene aisle. Just because George on Grey’s Anatomy buys tampons for his roommates doesn’t mean any other boy in history has. Remember, George isn’t real. And if I were you, I’d stay away from the liquor aisle on weekday afternoons, too.

Timing is everything.
You already knew that the best time to shop for singles was on a weeknight after work. But did you know that after 8 p.m. is prime pick-up time? You might catch guys in a post-workout, sweaty state, but at least you know they’re in good shape.
