10. Get your heart broken.
While I don't advocate random and regular heartbreak, a couple minor breakups—and even a big breakup or two—along the road to happily ever after can teach us important lessons about ourselves. Breakups allow us to redefine who we are and what we're looking for in our perfect partner. They give us yet another opportunity to get it right next time. And most importantly, breakups help us discover our own resilience. And that's worth a little heartache, don't you think?

Ultimately, what defines our single gal days is our ability to learn to love ourselves. It's also what helps us appreciate becoming a twosome. In creating a life you can love on your own terms, you're all the more likely to attract your perfect partner—and enjoy the ride along the way.
