Sexual Cues & Misconstrues: What We Say vs. What He Hears
Still, he admits that the woman can really set the tone for what the guy thinks based on her actions on the date. “If there hasn’t been any touching or flirting up to this point, then it may not mean that she wants to get physical,” says Nakamoto.
What We Shouldn’t Say:
Dave, 28, says, “I went on a first date with a woman and we had a bottle of wine at a bar and when the waitress asked if we wanted another, my date said, “No, I have wine at my place.” As Dave found out later, she did not intend to sleep with him that night but really just wanted to share a bottle of wine.
But, ladies, can we admit that this sort of invitation could confuse a guy?
Amy, 25, seconds that: “If I were in that guy’s shoes and a girl said that, I would definitely think something was gonna happen!”
What We Maybe Should Say:
So since it seems that “come in for a drink” could be misinterpreted as code for sex, what’s the code for really just having a drink?

I love the comment by the woman who said "No, I have wine at my place." I have said something really similar, and didn't mean it! Awkward!
