I can't get my boyfriend of a year to get along with my best friend. He thinks she's loud and obnoxious and she thinks he's boring and arrogant. At first, it just made social events a little uncomfortable, but now it has gotten to a point where every time I mention the other person's name they can't stop themselves from verbally bashing the other. I can't stand to hear them badmouth each other and it puts me in a really awkward situation. I clearly can't force them to get along. Do I have to choose one over the other or is there a way to balance both? If I do have to choose, how do I choose between someone who could be my husband and someone who could be my friend for life?
