Personally, I have to answer this question looking outside in. I've never been in that situation, but I think I can help. For the girls who think that they can just let themselves go, THAT IS NOT TRUE! I'm sorry but this is to all my ladies ... you shouldn't base your appearance on how comfortable you are with your guy. If y’all were to break up, then what? You would just be a blob by yourself. At least be able to make him look at you and think “dang, look what I lost” ... based on appearance. It should be that way with personality too.

Fellas, don't be scared to tell your girl that she needs to take care of herself. Let her know that you're interested in more than her looks. Tell her that she needs to be able to turn heads without you ... give a sense of independent confidence. Girls that just get comfortable with looking like a mess because they're in a settled relationship are honestly losing it. No girl should do that. So there is no excuse.
