Storge lovers often grow up in supportive families and communities. They expect lovers to be “special” friends. Stogics do not become preoccupied with love, but in a long-term relationship they get very possessive if their love (their status quo) is threatened and will fight tooth and nail to retain their lover. If the commitment isn’t there, sexual interest palls. Love is not an end in itself; it’s part and parcel of their life or it doesn’t work. Mania lovers are the potential stalkers in the pack. They expect love to be difficult and all-absorbing, and for them it is. They are jealous and possessive. It’s a rare person who wants a long-term maniac love and it’s no surprise that they are almost inevitably abandoned. Pragma lovers are the opposite. They don’t fall in love with people who don’t fit in with their lives, plans and goals. They disdain excessive emotion and jealous scenes but they do appreciate signs of commitment. They’d like to have a love relationship but not if it means sacrificing peace of mind and their comfortable life. Most suited to living alone if it came to it, so beware if your partner is pragmatic—don’t rock the boat too much.
