Relationship Advice: Changing Your Name, Taking Your Husband's last name

Everyone from feminists, traditionalists and even the average Joe and Jane have an opinion on a woman’s married name. Some claim it unites families while others see it as left over from the days when women were treated as their husband’s property. And it’s not like taking your husband’s name is even a universal trend. Did you know that in most Middle-Eastern Muslim countries, including Iran and Syria, women almost always keep their family names?* According to this month’s Savvy Miss Poll, less than 50% of you think gals should make the name change. We wanted to hear how today’s men and women feel, so we approached Savvy members and popped our question: “Should a woman take her husband’s last name? Will you?”
