My friends and I have all encountered the same situation. Men like us until we like them back. They put all of this time and energy to get us to go out with them, then when we finally let them in (and I'm not just talking about sex), when we finally want to be around them, they become disinterested. I get that it's part of a man's genetic makeup or something to chase women, but what are women to do? I'm ready for a serious relationship and feel too old to play cat and mouse games. How can a real relationship ever develop from these chases?
