Between building a career and being a social butterfly, we all know life can get crazy – sometimes a little too crazy even for a workout, right? And with the oodles of how-to information on fitness, just trying to begin a workout can drive us nuts! Can someone just explain it in plain English please? Well we’ve found someone who speaks our language – body language, that is.
Busy working mom Beverly Caen and personal fitness expert John Cruz are restoring a little sanity to working out with sane fitness Quickstart, an illustrated and simply worded workout guide-in-a-box that puts you – and your sanity – back on track. Sane fitness Quickstart includes 50 color-coded workout cards to mix and match at your desire designed to incorporate cardio, weights, abs and stretching exercises in every session. An additional booklet provides short and simple instructions on how to use sane fitness to evolve with your fitness level throughout a six-week program.
Having mastered the sedentary lifestyle myself, I decided to try sane fitness Quickstart for a few days. Once I figured out how to navigate the color-coding system, my workout went pretty smoothly – 20-minute jog around the neighborhood, some dumbbell curls, crunches and five minutes of stretching – and it really didn’t drive me crazy! I must admit I even enjoyed the soreness I felt the next day because it told me that even though my workout was simple, my muscles did notice. My favorite aspects of the kit are its portability and simplicity – both of which are great for those of us on the go and with short attention spans. My only complaint was that for best results the kit necessitates the purchase of a basic home gym including an exercise ball, mat and dumbbell set. However, for a gym-wary person like me this seems to be a more versatile and convenient investment than a gym membership that I probably will end up not using.
