Lobster Bites

Delicious Lobster Bites

This is essentially the same filling that is found in a classic lobster roll. For even more luxurious flavor, lightly brush the filo cups with melted butter and bake in a 350-degree oven for a few minutes, until lightly browned, before filling with lobster.


  • 4 ounces lobster meat, shredded into small pieces
  • ľ cup finely diced celery
  • 2 to 3 tablespoons mayonnaise
  • 32 filo cups (available frozen in supermarkets)
  • 1Ĺ tablespoons finely sliced chives or minced green scallions
  1. In a mixing bowl, combine the lobster, celery and mayonnaise. Cover and refrigerate.
  2. Fill the filo cups with the lobster mixture. Sprinkle with chives and arrange on a serving platter.

To make ahead
One hour to twenty-four hours before serving: Prepare filling. Cover and refrigerate.
To serve: Fill filo cups with lobster mixture. Sprinkle cups with chives.

Lobster meat
Lobster meat may be purchased, shelled and chilled from a fishmonger or supermarket. Many markets will allow you to choose your own live lobster and cook it for you on the spot. You can then bring it home and shell it yourself.
