Peter Thomas Roth Oxygen Detoxifying Masque $54
I was a bit hesitant to try Peter Thomas Roth’s very clinical looking mask. The jar looks like something you’d find at a hospital, and it warns those with sensitive skin to only leave it on for five minutes (instead of the usual ten for normal skin types). But the actual mask is scent-free, I was expecting “hospital in a jar,” and it went on very smooth and creamy. It didn’t sting, and when I washed it off, I could actually feel the difference. My skin felt smoother and fresher. This is a no frills mask—it simply gets the job done (well, I might add), so if you’re looking for something that smells like roses and lavender bundles, this isn’t your mask.
Origins A Perfect World Nightime Antioxidant Mask with White Tea $30
While I’m not sure what makes this a mask and not just a nighttime moisturizer, it really did wonders for my dry skin. The directions say to slather on a layer and then follow the face massage techniques to relax you and work the mask in. After, you can tissue off the excess or leave it on your skin. The massage was a nice touch and did help relax me, even though I found the white tea smell to be invigorating. When I woke up the next morning my skin felt very soft and smooth and stayed that way even after using my morning face wash. If you have oily skin I would stay clear since it will probably be way more than you need, but for dry skin it really lives up to the promise to moisturize and soothe.
