As soon as June rolls around we all want to look tan—especially because most of us haven’t seen the sun since last August. But how do we go about getting this instant-bronze? Definitely not by burning without sunscreen or fake-n-baking at the tanning salon. So we decided to give you the hottest bronzers for summer, so you can get tan the pain-free way. Just make sure to use our key to help choose whether you want a deep tan, a bright glow or a natural look.
Benefit’s Hoola Bronzing Powder $26 **** **
Benefit’s Hoola bronzer does exactly what its name says. I felt like I was ready for a luau on a tropical island. It has a rich brown color, which I loved, but that means it’s pretty dark, so I don’t recommend putting it all over your face—just the key spots. The first time I applied it I used the provided brush (which is really cute), but it didn’t leave me with a natural blend. Try a powder brush instead. Overall, though, a great bronzer! Aloha!
Stila’s Sun Bronzing Powder $28 ** ** ***
Stila’s Sun Bronzing Powder SPF 15 comes in a cute compact and looks deceptively dark in the package. I liked that the bronzing powder had SPF in it, but the tint is minimal. I had a nice glow, but not like I had spent the week in Mexico. Rather, I looked like I had spent the day at the beach—wearing sunscreen.
I found two bronzers that are also great. Urban Decay came out with a new bronzer called "Baked." It comes in a yummy cupcake-style package and I experience two different tints. "Toasted" made me feel like I had a healthy and glowing tan. I might even say that I looked like a little ray of sunshine. haha! You can put it on wet or dry and its streak free. Its one of my new favs.
Another one I tried is So Cal Glow by Hard Candy. It comes in a big compact covered in the hot spots of the west coast. It is very light and natural feeling and the best part about it is that it smells like coconut!
These bronzers are great and now I'm looking tan and ready for summer.
