If you want your guests to fall in love with you immediately, serve them these delicious, easy-to-make treats. Plated for prettiness, or made mini and tucked into cupcake wrappers, they’re edible amore. Add a splash of Grand Marnier to the strawberry mix and you’re instantly a sassy Betty Crocker. Or serve the biscuits with sides of butter and jam to add some sweetness to breakfast or brunch.

Get it:
Sweet cream biscuits
2 cups all-purpose flour
2 ½ teaspoons baking powder
1/3 teaspoon salt
1/3 cup plus 2 tablespoons sugar
1 cup heavy cream

Filling
1 basket of fresh strawberries
2 tablespoons sugar
1 cup fresh sweetened whipped cream

Go girl:

  • Preheat oven to 450 degrees.
  • Whisk together in a large bowl the flour, baking powder, salt and 1/3 cup sugar. Add the cream and mix with a wooden spoon until the dry ingredients are just moistened.
  • With a lightly floured hand, form the dough into a ball and knead gently against the bowl 5 to 10 times, or until completely combined.
  • Transfer the dough to a lightly floured surface and roll the dough out with a floured rolling pin to 1/2-inch thick. Cut with a circular cookie cutter.
  • Place the biscuits 1 inch apart on an ungreased or parchment-covered baking sheet. Sprinkle with sugar. Bake until the biscuits are golden brown on the top, about 12 to 15 minutes. Let cool.
  • Wash strawberries and slice off and discard their tops. Thinly slice the berries and place them in a bowl. Mix in 2 tablespoons sugar.
  • Slice each of the biscuits in half lengthwise. Place the bottom half on a plate, spoon strawberries over it, add a dollop of whipped cream and top with the top of the biscuit.
