Have any of you this new book, the Great Swim, by Gavin Mortimer about Gertrude Ederle, the New York gal who was the first woman to swim the English Channel.? I bought a copy after seeing it reviewed in Entertainment Weekly and its real inspiring. Gertrude Ederle is one of my of heroes - she was so courageous and it’s too bad things didn’t work out for her in later life
