“Spread love wherever you go. Let no one ever come to you without leaving happier.” — Mother Teresa
We all know what matters most in life — the people we love and who love us back. But it’s easy to get caught up in our daily grind and forget to take the time to actually tell the people who mean so much to us that we really, truly, seriously care.
“You gotta learn how to take a compliment because I’m not going to stop making them.” — Claudia Gray
It’s so easy (thankfully) for us to give compliments. “I love your new haircut!” “These muffins are fantastic.” “You’re such a good friend!” You say, like it’s no big deal.
It’s officially back — that time of year when our schedules ramp up and it’s all go-go-go with back to work, back to school, kids’ soccer games and on and on. Leaving you with zilch, nil, nada time to actually breathe, say ahhh and just be.
Though some weekends are crazier than others, and sometimes jam-packed schedules are unavoidable, there are ways you can create more white space in your calendar.
Has anyone told you lately that you’re amazing? Really, you’re wonderful and the world’s lucky to have you in it!
But if you’re not feeling so hot about yourself these days (hey, it happens to all of us!), it may be time for a self-confidence check-in.
Most of us aren’t born with Wonder Woman levels of self-confidence.
By being in this community, chances are you’re a kind, caring person always striving to be the best version of yourself.
You probably go out of your way to be nice and considerate toward others and don’t particularly feel so good when you yell, curse or send a good old fashion hand gesture another’s way.
“The surest way to be happy is to seek happiness for others.” — Martin Luther King Jr.
Ever get a text from your friend that she bought her dream home? Or that your younger cousin is engaged to her perfect person? Or your sister landed a huge promotion?
One of the biggest challenges we face is showing up in the world as ourselves.
We’re often so scared of being rejected or judged we don’t fully own who we are and what we believe in.
Not to mention, who wants to deal with family drama, hometown gossip or social media madness!
Truth time. Are you so busy with work, keeping your house running smoothly and checking off daily to-dos that the thought of taking some time to unwind seems almost laughable? (Relax? Ha! Now, where’s my coffee?!)
While a week-long getaway or even a three-day weekend staycation are ideal to unwind, there are so many ways we can bring more relaxing into our every day.
“If you are depressed, you are living in the past. If you are anxious, you are living in the future. If you are at peace, you are living in the present.” — Lao Tzu
Let’s start this weekend off by taking a deep breath in … and out.
Notice that you feel a bit calmer? Good. Because if you’re a little anxious these days (and most of us are!), you’re going to want to start doing this on the regular.
