While we’re big believers that happiness (for the most part!) is a choice — life isn’t always sunshine and rainbows.
Lows happen to all of us.
Sometimes there isn’t even a reason we feel sad, anxious, angry or blah. Blame it on the moon, stars or waking up on the wrong side of the bed.
Have you ever wondered at what point so many of us stopped expecting great things to happen in our lives?
Not wanting, hoping or wishing, but expecting them without a shadow of a doubt.
When toddlers put their hearts and minds toward walking they expect to walk.
There’s a saying in Italy, “Dolce far niente.” Translated it means, the sweetness of doing nothing.
It’s becoming rare these days to do nothing. Even when we don’t have anywhere to be or anything pressing to see, it’s unlikely we sit and watch people pass by on the street or stare off into the clouds.
More often, we lunge for our phones and fall into the digital world.
You can’t calm the storm, so stop trying. What you can do is calm yourself. The storm will pass.” — Timber Hawkeye
There’s a lot going on in the world right now and no matter how organized or Zen we strive to be — life gets crazy sometimes. No one’s immune to overwhelm, but fortunately, there are some real (and quite simple!) things we can do to help us through it.
You know when you feel it … that voice inside or feeling on your skin that’s trying to tell you something, whether it’s “yes, go for it,” “this doesn’t seem right” or “turn around and run!”
It’s your intuition speaking AKA your guiding light.
We all have been blessed with intuition — whether we listen to it or not. It gives us that nudge to say “yes” to that travel opportunity, or “no” to that nanny, job or second date.
We have a new favorite word we’d like to share with you today… Flawsome.
Flawsome (adj.) An individual who embraces their “flaws” and knows they’re awesome regardless.
Most of us can be pretty hard on ourselves and tend to focus on what we perceive to be bad, wrong or unwanted instead of the good stuff.

Chrissy and John, Meghan and Harry, Kate and William. Turn on the TV or scroll through Instagram, and you’ll likely hear about or spot a celebrity “power couple.”
But just because they’re big names doesn’t mean you too can’t be part of a power couple.
“When you say ‘yes’ to others, make sure you’re not saying ‘no’ to yourself.” — Paulo Coelho
Are you a “yes” person whose to-do list grows longer by the minute?
Are your days so jam-packed taking care of others you feel you don’t have time to breathe, let alone read a book, work on a passion project or enjoy a little “me time?”
