Do you wake up refreshed and ready to take on the day? Or does your morning routine feel more like something you schlep through until you take that first sip of heavenly coffee?

We’ve all heard mornings set the stage for the rest of the day, and today, we’re sharing the best way we know how to set yourself up for a wonderful day. (And you don’t have to get out of bed even a minute earlier!)

  1. Wake up every morning with the thought that something wonderful is going to happen to you today.

There’s power in positive thinking and in expecting great things. You may even find yourself singing the theme song to Oklahoma:

“Oh what a beautiful morning,
Oh what a beautiful day,
I’ve got a wonderful feeling,
Everything’s going my way.”

  1. Give yourself a compliment (or two).

While washing your face and brushing your teeth, give yourself kudos for all the good work you do, the friendships you’ve created, and how amazing you are, both inside and out.

Take a moment to focus on all the positives about the person you see staring back in the mirror and remind yourself to be good to yourself today.

  1. Avoid screens until start time.

Do you wake up and immediately reach for your phone? It’s time to break free of that habit! A negative news story, text, social media notification, or any outside noise has too much power in the morning to spiral you into a bad mood or make you feel overwhelmed. (Not exactly how you want to begin your day.)

So give your mornings the best chance to be filled with peace and resist checking what’s going on in your digital world for at least an hour after getting out of bed — or until you absolutely have to.

While of course, some mornings will be better than others, if you start your day in a joyful place, you’ll be surprised how much more you can accomplish, and how much better you feel when you hit the pillow.

Be good to Y-O-U, in the morning (and really, all day every day!).

XO,
The Savvy Team
