We have a hunch: You’ve been spending a lot of time with your partner the past months (emphasis on a lot).

At first, having all that time together might have been fun. All of a sudden you can take a lunch with your partner or go on a midday walk. But chances are, the rush of spending more hours around your best friend wore off long ago!

Have you felt a little more agitated than usual? Or have you started noticing more things that he or she is doing “wrong”? Your partner could be feeling the same way, too. These are still strange times we’re in (despite all the optimism we have for 2021) and sometimes we can take feelings of frustration, fear, and disappointment out on our partner.

But today, we want to remind you again that you’re a part of a power couple — and rather than thinking of him versus you, try and think of how much you can do, together. Like Eva Gabor wisely said: “Love is a game that two can play and both can win.”

The word to keep in mind is teamwork, and the best part is you and your partner can both come out victorious if you work together to support and motivate each other.

This weekend, put your heads together and create a list of at least three ways you can support each other to make your lives better (especially during this difficult time).

Maybe you can trade-off in the morning — one person gets the kids ready while the other exercises (and then swap days). Or perhaps you focus on being kinder to each other when you notice unwashed dishes or an overflowing laundry basket.

Then, come up with three big-picture goals you can work on together (whether it’s saving up to buy a house or to start a new business). Express your dreams and listen to your partner’s. Write them down with a total intention to make them real.

To keep your excitement levels up, consider building a vision board or a shared Pinterest board with images that fit your goals.

Finally, consider a monthly “check-in” to see how you’re both doing, set action steps and re-evaluate your goals. And don’t forget to keep brainstorming ways to help each other out!

Remember you’re a team and you’re here to support one another, so be sure to appreciate and compliment each other for the work that you both do. Pump each other up and share in the excitement of the process. You both may feel like you’re better than ever (even during a pandemic) — and closer to your dreams and to each other.

Wishing you a Happy Valentine’s Day!

XO,
Savvy Team

Savvy Picks

This weekend, take some ‘Me-Time’ and treat yourself to a good soak! We love all of these body scrubs — especially the mango kiwi body scrub made with dead sea salt and botanical oils like almond and jojoba. Island bliss, we’re ready for you!

With the pandemic in full swing (and most gyms closed!), chances are one of the only activities you can really do is take a stroll in nature. To keep our feet warm (and still looking cute) on winter walks, we’re big fans of these classic leather boots that never go out of style. 😉
