Raise your hand if you were especially hard on yourself in 2020 (our arms are going up right now, too!).

We faced so many hurdles last year that in the process, many of us have become our own personal punching bags.

Whether you’ve been beating yourself up about work, your home, your body — whatever — it’s time to start showing yourself more love in 2021. When you show yourself love, kindness, and respect (rather than tear yourself down), you feel more inspired, hopeful, and happy. And isn’t that how you want to live your life?

So this weekend, set a goal to …

Keep up the positive talk.

Most of us don’t want to go down the self-criticism spiral, but we find ourselves there anyway.

For the next three days, make it a priority to catch yourself every time you start talking poorly about yourself and then tell yourself something like, “Nope, this weekend I choose to be good to myself.”

Turn down some Zooms.

Yes, we’re still in a pandemic, and staying connected is important, but so is making time for Y-O-U. So if your weekend is blocked out with back-to-back Zoom calls, consider declining some of those invites, and using the time for self-care.

Take some “Me Time” to cozy up and read a good book with a mug of tea (see our Savvy Pick below!) or take a long walk in nature.

Even just an hour of alone time is good for your soul.

Dust off your journal.

Write down three reasons you love yourself (if you need a self-love journal, these journals are some of our favorites!).

Are you an amazing friend? A loving daughter? A super-star businesswoman? Jot it all down, and give yourself credit for who you are and all that you do.

Being kinder to yourself will help you thrive (not just survive) any challenge the year may bring.

You’re wonderful. Be good to yourself!

XO,
Savvy Team

Savvy Picks

Speaking of loving yourself more, why not treat yourself to something special? We’re loving these French chocolates that feel extra special (not to mention taste so good).

If you’re looking for some cozy winter vibes (isn’t everyone right now?), check out these warming, spicy chai teas that hit all the right hygge notes. Bliss, coming soon. 🙂
